General Policy & Terms
Thank you for taking the time to read through these policies. They apply across all of my services — Lessons, the Ukulele Circle, and Instrument Care — alongside the specific terms and pricing for each service, which are available on their respective pages.
Safeguarding
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and have completed safeguarding training. The safety and wellbeing of all students, particularly those under 18, is a priority, and lessons and sessions are conducted in a safe, respectful environment at all times.
Photo & Video Consent
From time to time, photos or videos may be taken during concerts, Ukulele Circle sessions, or lessons for use on the website or social media (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube). If you would prefer not to be included — or for your child not to be included — please let me know in advance, and this will always be respected.
Data Protection & Privacy
Your contact details, payment information, and any notes relating to your lessons or sessions are kept securely and used only for the purpose of running and administering your lessons, sessions, or instrument care. Your information is never shared with third parties, except where required by My Music Staff or the invoicing system used to manage bookings and payments.
Online Lessons
For online lessons, please ensure you have a device with a working camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a quiet space to play. Lessons are conducted via Zoom or FaceTime — details will be confirmed when booking. Where possible, please have your instrument tuned and ready at the start of the session.
Students Under 18
For students under 18, a parent or guardian is responsible for the account, payments, and attendance. For online lessons with younger students, a parent or guardian should be reachable during the session, even if not present throughout.
Studio Closure & Severe Weather
In the rare event that the studio needs to close unexpectedly (for example, due to severe weather or a heating or power issue), lessons will be moved online where possible. If an online lesson isn't possible, this will be treated as a teacher cancellation under the relevant service's standard cancellation policy.
Referrals
If you were referred by an existing student or client, please mention this when you get in touch — both you and the person who referred you will receive a £10 account credit for each successful referral. This applies across all of my services (lessons, Ukulele Circle, and instrument care), and credit can be used toward any of them. A referral counts as "successful" once the new student or client has completed their first paid session or service.
